Since 1985, Jon has been a leading builder in Malibu and the Pacific Palisades, combining craftsmanship, vision, and integrity to create exceptional spaces. As a lifelong resident who has raised his family here, Jon’s commitment goes beyond construction, he builds with care for the community he calls home.
Over the last four decades, Jon has led a portfolio of respected companies, including Johnson & Hughes Inc., Bluewater Land Innovations Inc., and now StoneCrest Development LLC. His mission has remained consistent: from Beverly Hills to Santa Barbara, to transform visions into extraordinary homes.

Jon Hughes is the driving force behind StoneCrest Development, bringing more than 45 years of experience in building, design, and development across Southern California. Since founding his first company in 1985, Jon has become one of the leading builders in Malibu and the Pacific Palisades, with a portfolio that includes Johnson & Hughes Inc., Bluewater Land Innovations Inc., and now StoneCrest Development LLC.
As President, Jon is an on-site management specialist whose meticulous attention to detail inspires his team to transform projects into artistry. His philosophy has always placed the client’s vision at the forefront, ensuring that every home reflects both personal style and timeless design. Dependability and progress remain his chief concerns, and each project benefits from his personal, daily involvement.
Jon has developed extensive relationships with city planners, leading architects, and insurance companies, giving him a unique ability to guide complex projects smoothly
from vision to completion. He is known for his integrity and insistence on quality. Whether in clean design, work ethic, or materials. With a hands-on background in rough framing and finish carpentry, Jon brings a rare blend of craftsmanship and executive leadership.

Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer of StoneCrest Development, Sakuna brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to construction management, finance, and administration. She leads the firm’s administrative and operations teams, ensuring seamless coordination across all phases of development from budgeting and contracts to design review and field execution.
Her career spans hotel renovations, property upgrades, and large-scale real estate projects, where she has successfully overseen guest rooms, conference centers, restaurants, retail spaces, and landscaped exteriors. Sakuna’s ability to manage both the financial and construction sides of a project gives StoneCrest a competitive edge, ensuring every detail is carefully accounted for without losing sight of design integrity.
Sakuna is known for her hands-on leadership style and her focus on both form and function. She prides herself on her attention to detail and her ability to bring together diverse teams of professionals to deliver projects that are not only efficient and financially sound but also architecturally striking.
